Hula pahu are sacred chants and ritual movements performed with pahu --
a sharkskin-covered drum.   The origins of pahu in legendary times, religious meaning and its powerful
sounds give pahu singular importance in Hawaiian culture.   A pahu workshop was held from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on February 9-10, 16-17,
23-24, 2002, at the Maui Community College Agriculture Building.
